The Sewcial group is inviting members of the general public to make 18 centimetre fabric squares and to decorate them using any techniques and materials that they wish, the only proviso being that all materials used should be recycled or repurposed materials already in existence as opposed to brand new material.
The completed patchwork will be put on public display at the end of the festival.

The Sewcial group was set up under the Talking Tree umbrella in 2023, the purpose of the group is to raise awareness of our attitudes towards clothing and fabrics and how they impact the environment. The group do this by helping people acquire sewing skills and confidence so that they can make, upcycle, mend and re purpose clothing and other fabric items, thereby reducing the amount of clothes and other items being purchased and discarded when considered not fit for purpose.
